“The Role of Creative and Digital Learning in the Green Transition of Agribusiness.”

On June 6, 2024, e-AgriMBA Session within AgriMBA Network Conference was held at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) under the overarching theme: “The Role of Creative and Digital Learning in the Green Transition of Agribusiness.”

The event gathered academics, researchers, and educators from universities affiliated with the AgriMBA network, representing a diverse range of countries and institutions engaged in sustainable agribusiness education.

The conference opened with a plenary session, during which distinguished speakers shared insights into international academic cooperation, innovative teaching approaches including these developed within e-AgriMBA project, and new trends in PhD research. The session featured contributions from representatives of institutions such as the University of Arkansas, Czech University of Life Sciences, and Warsaw University of Life Sciences.

This was followed by two thematic sessions that showcased a variety of research projects and educational initiatives. The first session, chaired by Prof. Rico Ihle from Wageningen University, focused on creative and digital methods in green education. Presentations highlighted topics such as experiential learning for sustainability reporting, prevention of food waste using digital tools, gamified financial literacy education, and mobile applications supporting SME competitiveness. Particular attention was given to the results of EU-funded ERASMUS PLUS projects, including the DIN-ECO and FLER , demonstrating the active involvement of e-AgriMBA partners in international collaboration.

The second thematic session, chaired by Prof. András Nábrádi from the University of Debrecen, explored international perspectives on food value chains. Experts discussed diverse case studies—from short food supply chains in Europe and technical efficiency in Hungarian cattle production to beekeeping in Moldova and yak cheese production in Mongolia. Several presentations also focused on quality assurance and blended learning models in the context of European higher education, with examples drawn from the e-AgriMBA program.

The event offered a valuable platform for academic exchange, fostering the visibility of research outputs and innovative teaching practices among e-AgriMBA Teachers. It also reinforced the shared vision of the AgriMBA network: to support sustainable development through high-quality, internationally oriented education in agribusiness and rural development.

On June 7, 2024, the second day of the event, a dedicated e-AgriMBA project meeting took place, bringing together project partners for a quarterly review session. The meeting was organized in a hybrid format (in person and via MS Teams), ensuring participation from institutions across Europe. During the meeting, partners discussed the current status of the project, including the results of the interim report, financial updates, and progress in delivering project objectives. Each work package leader presented updates on their respective areas. The team also discussed preparations for the upcoming training and project meeting in Moldova, planned for the next project phase. Emphasis was placed on improving communication strategies, increasing the project’s visibility, and strengthening cooperation among partner institutions.

The two-day event in Warsaw successfully combined academic exchange with strategic project coordination, reaffirming the commitment of the AgriMBA network to fostering innovation and excellence in agribusiness education across Europe and beyond.
