On October 17, 2024, educators and industry leaders gathered for a groundbreaking teacher training event, “Innovative Education for a Sustainable and Competitive Moldovan Agri-Business,” at the Technical University of Moldova (TUM) in Chisinau. The e-AgriMBA training, led by a team of international experts, offered an immersive experience to Moldovan instructors seeking to enhance the quality and relevance of agribusiness education through innovative, technology-driven learning.
The day kicked off with a warm welcome from Professors Agata Malak-Rawlikowska (Poland) and Rico Ihle (Netherlands), who introduced the goals and structure of this unique event. The program began with a hands-on workshop on the AgriMBA e-learning platform, led by Dr. Krisztian Kovács and Dr. Adam Péntek (Hungary), alongside Prof. Ihle, guiding participants in developing their personalized course websites.
Following a networking lunch, participants explored new teaching approaches presented by Prof. Dr. Marcin Zbieć (Poland), introducing techniques developed by the EU Erasmus CL4Bio project, designed to foster creativity in bio-economy education. Next, Prof. Dr. Bruce Ahrendsen (USA), Dr. Evert Los (Netherlands), and Adam Patkowski (Poland) led an insightful session on aligning MBA curricula with real-world agribusiness needs, empowering teachers to equip students with industry-relevant skills.
The event concluded with a dynamic panel discussion moderated by Professors Agata Malak-Rawlikowska and Rico Ihle, with insights from Moldovan and international agribusiness leaders on critical educational needs for sustainable sector development. Esteemed panelists included Maria Dobrovolna, an AgriMBA graduate from Nitra University (Slovakia); Tajana Radić, representative of the Croatian Chamber of Agriculture; Ghenadie Cioinac (Elit-Tehnica SRL); Ana Nicolaescu (S.R.L. NGA CONTABILITATE); Natalia Papuc, Executive Director of Moldova Organic Value Chain Alliance (MOVCA); Aneta Ganenco ("Pomuşoarele Moldovei"); Alexandru Alexeev, Director General of CBT Cricova-Vin SA; and Iurie Fala, representative of NGO Moldova-Fruct. Together, they discussed the specialized skills and practical business knowledge needed for Moldovan agribusiness to flourish sustainably and internationally.
